It's already been 5 years since the euro banknotes memory were launched. Initially, only France and Monaco issued them and 93 sites took the risk of embarking on this adventure.

In 2019, around 600 euro banknotes memory have been issued, representing around 50 countries in Europe and even the world.

What does the year 2020 hold in store for us? Will we see emissions from countries even further away from the euro!!!

Developments and an "anniversary" series planned in 2020 for the euro banknotes memory

A few changes for this year will be made to the banknote's colorimetry and the integration of new security features. On the reverse side, lighting with a UV lamp will highlight two-coloured fluorescent parts that will not be visible in daylight.

To celebrate the 5 years of existence of the euro banknotes memory collection, 20% of the first banknotes will be issued in an "anniversary" version (banknotes numbers 4001 to 5000 if 5000 copies or 8001 to 10000 if 10000 copies). In addition to the classic version, these will include 5 blue stars on the right-hand side of the banknote, the addition of a latent image at the bottom left-hand side and the mention "anniversary" visible when illuminated by UV lamp.
